In the past 5 years, we have organized more than 150 initiatives in grassroots football to understand and contribute to the social, economic and developmental aspects of the Indian Football ecosystem. Through strategic consulting, turnkey project execution and our proprietary football technology, F-Cube, we want to ensure that every child benefits from play.

The Founder

Chetan’s Story

Chetan grew up in Orissa, passed high school from DPS, R.K Puram in Delhi and then got his Engineering/Economics degree from Georgia Tech, USA. After graduation he worked as a research engineer in Washington DC on sensor based wireless technologies. During this time he developed a keen interest in sports based technologies and processes at play in the US sports ecosystem. He extensively researched on the social, entertainment & business successes of the Football industry worldwide with a special focus on the highly successful girls grassroots soccer programmes in the USA. He returned to India in 2010 and started working in the Indian Football ecosystem. A Football Association (FA), England, Level-2 football coach, he has worked with more than 25,000 Football players, both boys and girls across various age groups and socio-economic segments in India.

For his work he has been recognized by Times Now-Amazing Indians, CNBC-Young Turks, Mahindra – Spark the Rise nominee at Times Now Awards, TATA-IIM Calcutta Top 20 social enterprise in India amongst many others. He has been instrumental in developing the Delhi Police Yuva program for Football and has been felicitated by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi for his work with underprivileged footballers .In his efforts to develop a talent pool in Indian Football, Chetan has developed an experiential football training technology, F-Cube, which progressively quantifies various developmental parameters in young sportspersons. In July 2014, Sports Minister of India, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal launched the F-Cube technology concept at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Over the past year, Chetan has worked on productizing the F-Cube prototype and is launching a first-of-its-kind immersive Football center in Delhi in Feb 2016.

Chairman

Biraja Misra, chairman of TheFootballLink, has more than 45 years of experience in senior management roles in India and abroad. A mechanical engineer from BITS Pilani, he did his MBA from UCLA, USA. He believes that sports can be a major game-changer in Indian society and has been instrumental in laying the ethos and vision of TheFootballLink.

BB Misra

Technology Strategy

BB Misra passed out from NDA and joined the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot. He subsequently became a Experimental test pilot in IAF. He also served as a research scientist in ADA and DRDO on Simulators, Human Interface Design and Systems Integration the Light Combat Aircraft project. He currently monitors all technology advancement/innovation of the company.

Player Development

His Football career of more than 45 years includes being the Technical Advisor of the Sports Authority of India, Under-17 FIFA World Cup team and the Head Coach of India’s premier Football training institute, National Institute of Sports (NIS), Patiala. He heads our Football Coaching Program and designs the training curriculum for children and coaches.

Suresh Kataria has worked with the Sports Authority of India for over 31 years and was an active member of the Sports Ministry Task Force for Under-17 FIFA World Cup, India. He has received numerous accolades such as the Sports Journalist Award for the Best Men’s Team in 1984 and the SGFI Best Coach Award in 2017 for his immense contribution to the game.

Sanjib Mahapatra

HR Head

A trained Black Cat Commando Officer and an ex-BSF Officer, Sanjib Mahapatra was a Professor of English Literature at the Christ College, Cuttack. He worked at various Managerial capacities for TISCO Jamshedpur for over 20 years and as a Chief Manager at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He has also spearheaded various other brown field and green field projects.

Nitin is an IT Engineer from the Madras University who has been an active contributor initiatives pertaining to Sports for Development. He has featured in numerous projects including the Cricket World Cup for the Blind (2017), where he was a key member in Strategy and Implementation. His passion to combine sports and social welfare led him to TheFootballLink.

Sujit Mishra

Technology Head

Sujit has over 15 years of experience in the IT Industry, with a large part of it as Lead Consultant with consultancy giant, Infosys in London, UK. His contribution to the field has been in various capacities such as Domain Consultant, Project Lead and Solution Architect. He also has experience working on Mobile Application Development & configuration.

A commerce graduate from Bangalore University and CA from ICAI, Rahul has over 10 years of extensive experience in financial activities including payroll, cash management, forecast and budgeting, internal audits, fund raising and supervising individual property controllers and accounting systems. Rahul makes sure that our money is in the right hands.
